Price of the new Samsung S24: how much does it cost to have one in Latin America?

Samsung S24 : The cheapest model that can be found in one of the countries in the region starts at US$1,075, according to values found by Bloomberg Línea

Bloomberg Line — Samsung Electronics Co. (SM) presented on Wednesday in San Jose, California, the new smartphone models of its Galaxy line, which will be supported with artificial intelligence (AI) functions and with which the company seeks to deliver advantages to users above other smartphone brands.

At its ‘Unpacked’ conference, the South Korean company presented the Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra models. The functions supported by AI are among the highlights of these launches that will hit the market in February and are already in their pre-sale phase.

According to the company, the reference prices will be US$799 for the S24 and US$999 for the S24+, that is, these will be the initial prices with which they will be sold in Latin America, to which values should be added import and taxes of each country, which tends to increase the final price in the region.

The company also noted that the S24 Ultra, which has a 6.8-inch screen, like the S23 Ultra launched last year, will start at $1,299.

But beyond these launch reference prices, the company has already enabled the pre-sale of its new models in some LatAm economies, also announcing the local prices from which the Galaxy S24 line smartphones can be obtained, with a rate exchange rate on January 19, 2024:

Colombia: the Galaxy S24 5G is offered from COP$4,499,920 (US$1,150) and the S24+ from COP$5,499,920 (US$1,406). For its part, the S24 Ultra starts selling at COP$6,899,920 (US$1,764).
Chile: the Galaxy S24 5G is presented from CLP$979,990 (US$1,075) and the S24+ from CLP$1,229,990 (US$1,349). For its part, the S24 Ultra starts selling at CLP$1,469,990 (US$1,613).
Mexico: the company has the Galaxy S24 5G on pre-sale from MXN$19,499 (US$1,139) and the S24+ from MXN$23,999 (US$1,402). For its part, the S24 Ultra starts selling at MXN$30,999 (US$1,811).
The price of these models will also depend on the storage and performance specifications that customers prefer. These prices, according to Samsung’s official website, would be valid until approximately February 7, as they are pre-sale values. Changes may occur later.

Samsung’s new phones feature a Qualcomm Inc. chip. They are based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processors and offer the latest Wi-Fi capabilities, as well as AI-assisted features such as real-time translation and transcription.
